Meet the Members of Foundations Academy.
Aristotle is the President and financial benefactor of the Foundations Academy. He is a dedicated husband and father who temporally sacrifices his life's dream in order to provide for his family (meaning we are very grateful for his sacrifice). He has a wide range of experience in everything from building construction to flying an airplane and currently drives long haul.
Galileo
Galileo is the mother and mentor for all the members of this academy. She is in her early 40's and still enrolling new students (that means still having babies). She loves spending time with her family, friends, and serving in the community as well as isolated hours with her books and planners. Her specialties are in the field of truth, eternal perspective, mother/womanhood, and family. She is passionate about learning and is always ready with a question to absorb more info.
William Wilberforce
Wilberforce is our alumni student and although she has moved on to a new academy - we, at the Foundations Academy, have invited her to take part in our activities through modern technological means. Her contributions and example are absolutely essential to the success of the remaining student body. Her passions are many - including singing, dancing, acting, art, and of course voracious study.
Shakespeare
Shakespeare is the second member of the student body and is currently acting as student body president - (meaning she's the oldest at home right now - 16 years old). She recently obtained both her personal progress award and her driver's license as well as recently becoming employed by her father, and is making further preparations in her advance to adult life. Some interests she likes to participate in are acting, singing, dancing, sewing & crafts, and hairstyling. This year, her studies include Shakespeare Conquest, Foundations of Liberty, Key of Liberty, and is working to earn the SPICEE award as well.
Jane Austen
Austen is the aspiring scholar this year at 13 years of age. She is passionate about drawing and art, fashion, acting, and any other thing that has a creative flair to it. Also listed among her talents is a quick understanding and application of electronic devices (the families solution finder in that area). Friends and social experiences are highly important to her and she has a gift for working with baby animals. She is currently working toward the awards in the Key of Liberty class, as well as attending the Foundations of Liberty class, and Improv
George Washington
Washington (sometimes known as motorcycle man) is one of the two handsome young men in this institution. Ranked in the Love of Learning phase, he enjoys participating with the daily adventure boxes as well as playing with classmates. He recently turned 11 years old and has advanced to the Boy Scouting program. He also earned the purchase (earned / not yet received) of his own motorcycle for managing his bloodsugars for seven days straight. The classes he is participating in include Mathematics, Knights of Freedom, and Children's Choir.
Hypatia
Hypatia is transitioning from 8 years of core phase play into structured time Love of Learning. She has demonstrated her mastery of her household chores and being obedient to her mother's instructions. And her stewardship of animals are the best attended to of the entire student body. Since she has always excelled in play (and silliness), she is well prepared to participate in the games and play found in the adventure boxes. This year her iFAMILY classes include Story Station, Phonics, Princess Academy, and Children's Choir.
Joan of Arc
Jeanne de'arc is coming into the awareness of her schooling phase as play, mess-making, and being adored by one and all. She has advanced from being the youngest and newest student to a seasoned core phase student - since the arrival of her new baby brother - but with her nurturing character and frequent snuggles, it's an advancement she's thrilled to take on. Even potty training may become important sooner than expected. Her scholarly talents are many and include drawing (writing) on every surface she can, frequent reading and being read to, and pulling all the books out of the bookshelves. Her roommate, Shakespeare, has her hands full with this young charge.
Enoch
Our most recently enrolled student joined our academy this year and is already adjusting well to school life. His lessons include 'How to operate a body', and 'Developing trust in my parents abiltiy to love & take care of me' among a multitude of others. A great deal of time will be spent in training this young student these important lessons so that he can be a more self-guided student in years to come.
